Basic Paddle Leash |

Extreme Paddle Leash |
These leashes are made of nylon bungee to withstand the rigors of paddling. All loops are hand done with two stainless steel crimps and sealed with shrink wrap to deter corrosion. We design all of our leashes to be used with Aluminum Carabineers, or you can just slip the loop through a pad eye and thread the other end through the eye. Your leash is still 100% usable. Other companies use plastic hook ends and when they break, you need to replace your leash.
Both leashes are 40" long with aluminum caribiner on one end and velcro loop on the other. The basic leash is made from 3/16" shock cord; the Extreme leash is made form 1/4" shock cord.

We tested these paddle leashes on our recent Lake Powell trip. I was concerned they might restrain paddle movement, but we hardly knew they were there. When we stopped to get out and hike around, we just needed to make sure the kayaks were secure—we could leave the paddle floating next to the boat and know it would still be there when we got back. I wish I had had one of these on our river trips—I know firsthand how easy it is to have a paddle try to float away when you turn a boat over or you get into some standing waves and your boat tries to fill up with water and you have to bail.

It has been a zoo around here since we got back from the GURG trip. But I wanted you know yet again how much I appreciated your giving me that paddle leash.

The trip on the Great Unknown of the Rio Grande was my first paddling expedition in 8 years. I was using a 240cm double bladed paddle with my canoe (a Mohawk Solo 14), thinking it would help me overcome my very rusty paddling skills on this long six-day trip. As you know, we were in and out of our boats, pulling them over low spots and around rapids we didn't want to chance. That paddle leash kept my long double-bladed paddle from falling out of the boat during those portages. The velcro loop fastened it to the thwart in front of my pedestal and did not get in the way of anything. The paddle leash really is a "must have" item when paddling with a double bladed paddle either in a kayak or a canoe. Thanks for introducing me to this nifty piece of paddling equipment.
Now that I'm over my terror of the last day's paddle in those horrendous winds, I think I'm ready for the next trip.
XOXOXOXO
Linda
