We really like these rubber Pole storage clips. We got a new catalog from Sea-Dog and upon seeing these things, we immediately ordered some of each size. Use them to secure paddles, belaying pins, dip nets, fishing poles, whisker poles, tools, and on and on.
The photo above shows how these great clips are used. In this case to hole a boat hook against the bulkhead on our Ladybug.
