Our nylon oarlocks and sockets are stronger than you might think. The shaft is 3/4" in diameter, and very tough. The price is unbeatable. Use common sense, though - if you are built like an NFL linebacker and not an experienced rower (guys who row a lot know how to use a steady stroke) you may want to select a more durable oarlock. As strong as these are, they are not indestructable.
