The Race-Lite folks have admonished us to call these pintles and gudgeons "Optimist Style" because the pins are not metric. The official I.O.D.A. rules specify that the pin diameter must be 6mm. The pins on ours are 1/4" (This is what Race-Lite could get) which is a difference of less than one sixty-fourth of an inch (0.0138"). You can't tell the difference without a micrometer.
So if you just want to fix up an Optimist or similar pram or other small sailboat, this set of hardware should work fine.
