Author Biography

For 13 years Chris Kulczycki has been a successful designer of wooden kayaks and kayak kits, and the owner of Chesapeake Light Craft, Inc., a business that offers wooden boat, kits, plans, and boatbuilding supplies. Earlier this year he sold Chesapeake Light Craft to a group of investors. In addition to The Kayak Shop and The New Kayak Shop, he has written for SAIL, Sea Kayaker, Cruising World, Ocean Navigator, and Fine Woodworking magazines. In his writing he draws on his many years of experience as an instructor at the WoodenBoat School to anticipate and solve the problems faced by the novice boatbuilder.
