Whether it's for fishing, sports, diving or even competition angling, the SportzMaster 19 is designed to suit your needs. Practical and easy to handle,  she offers a great opportunity for those weekend fishing adventures or, just as important, for those families who just love to venture out on the water. So, with all that said, "Is there anything we've forgotten?" 

Overview

The SportzMaster 19 is designed as a vessel suited to sheltered and semi-sheltered waters. The SportzMaster 19 plans are large scale drawings printed on 2 ft by 3 ft sheets (or D size) and also include full size frame templates. The CAD plans are drawn to a very high degree of accuracy in both metric and imperial measurements. Included also is a building manual and material list.

Overall, the SportzMaster 19 offers a great opportunity for those weekend fishing adventures or, just those families who just love to venture out on the water.

Design Brief

The brief for the SportzMaster 19 was simple. It had to combine the comfort for those family outings, whether it be swimming, diving or just enjoying the day, but at the same time she also had to satisfy those who are into serious fishing and competition.

Not content though with being just another boat, where they all begin to look the same, the SportzMaster 19 had to be different. With her flared bows and strong sheerline, she had to be tough and rugged, yet simple in her concept, yet all the while telling you of her purpose and nature. 

Arrangements:

The SportzMaster 19 is designed for seaworthiness, practicality and comfort. Whether it be a glassy sea or a grey horizon, she had to be designed to bring you and your family home safely, and in comfort.

As to her arrangement, the SportzMaster 19 encompasses a full wrap-around seating arrangement up forward, landed on a raised self draining deck, just aft of the full access anchor locker. With a comfortable height of 18 in (460mm), the forward seating arrangement is designed for comfort. Also beneath the seats, you'll find large waterproof storage lockers for all those family needs.

Moving aft and stepping down onto the main deck, you're now in the "Control Center". Boasting a comfortable 2 seat helm station, with room for your feet on their own reclined foot rests, the first impression one notices is that all the controls are laid out for easy reaching. Whether you're up on the plane or "backing down" hard for those fisherman reeling in their catch, it's all at your fingertips. The layout of the helm station is designed for minimal glare and whether your seated or standing, the windscreen frame is not in your line of sight, obscuring your vision when needed most.

Beneath the helm station seat is situated the icebox. With 50mm of insulation, it measures 3ft in length and boasts a whooping 3.19 cubic feet of volume or, a 90 litre icebox. Loaded with food and drinks for those family outings, or fish and ice, with the SportzMaster 19 you won't be caught short on capacity here.

Behind the helm seating arrangement, we find the adjustable splayed stainless rod holders, which form a part of the back rest for the helm seating. For those fisherman wanting to change lures or other assorted gear, located under the Port rear coaming, along the back bulkhead, you'll find compartments with easy access hatches to store all your "secret lures" and all the other important "hardware" within easy reach.
    
On the starboard side, you'll find the access door to the rear platform. Measuring 2ft or 610mm in width and opening to the outside, it allows easy access between the rear platform and the cockpit. This aft platform, measuring 2ft-5in (743mm) in depth and versatile in it's design, is designed for easy access for those families climbing on and off the boat when swimming, casting you're net for bait, or even landing the "big one".

Overall, the SportzMaster 19 concept and arrangement is designed to be a practical all rounder, suited to the many activities that a family requires.

Construction

The SportzMaster 19, designed to ABS Power Boat scantlings, is a composite strip plank design while the interior framing and joinery is constructed from Gabon or Okoume plywood. Using Paulownia timber or Western Red Cedar as the core and sandwiched in epoxy and directional E-glass fabrics, this overall result's in a stronger, tougher and more durable "Composite" boat, while still retaining its lightweight construction.

Performance

The SportzMaster 19, utilizes a constant 14 degree deadrise from the midship station to her transom, while at the bow, at water entry, her deadrise is 63 degrees. Incorporating slightly convex (or rounded)sections in the bow area to "soften" the ride, while simultaneously increasing buoyancy, this reduces pounding while on the plane as her flared bow slices its way through the waves, resulting in a drier ride.

To increase dynamic lift in the aft sections for getting up on the plane, the SportzMaster 19 utilizes chine flats in the aft sections, increasing dynamic lift and enabling her to get up quick. With her anchor down and the family now at play, the chine flats greatly increase stability while at rest, reducing roll and overall, providing greater comfort.

In regards to power requirements, a 90 HP 4 stroke will push you along at approximately 27 kts. Maximum Horsepower is 115 Hp
