Egret is 17 feet long with
a 24 inch beam. The frame is fuselage-type construction:
keel, stem, stern, bulkheads and stringers. The prototype
is covered in heat-shrink Dacron with two coats of clear
Hypalon below the sheer, but a variety of fabrics can
be used. One option is to sheathe the Dacron with a layer
of Xynole and epoxy. This kind of laminated skin is, as
far as I know, my own innovation, and it yields an extremely
tough yet light and flexible hull.
The plans package includes
plans, full-size patterns and a detailed and illustrated
100 page instruction book.
