a lovely example by
Colin Wragg.
The Adirondack Guide boats
were used in the outback of North America in the 19th and
early 20th Centuries for hunting, portaging etc and have
a very distinctive shape with fairly pinched bow/stern sections
and slack bilge shape. Beam was kept low so that they were
often rowed with a cross handed. Construction is shown for
both simple stitch and tape and clinker/ply construction.
LOA 15’ (4.7m); Beam
3’4 1/2” (2.85m); Midship hull depth 12”
(0.3m); Weight approx 70lbs (32kg).
