The Hawke Bay is a large
single rowing skiff designed for a New Zealand client who
wanted to go on rowing expeditions around the coasts of
North & South Islands. She has been given plenty of
freeboard and buoyancy to cater with the sharp chop experienced
in offshore rowing. There is a sliding seat for comfortable
rowing and plenty of room to take enough stores for lengthy
trips. Standard construction is for welded aluminium using
pre-shaped panels. She can however be made from plywood
using stitch and tape methods with epoxy.
