Ebihen 16 is a lengthened version of Ebihen 15, with same breadth and depth. This gives more space for the crew and also more sail area. This last is good for the standing lug version, the sail area being otherwise limited by the boat's length.
Several units are under construction. The plan package is the same as Ebihen 15, but with modified structure and sail plans. The builder has to adapt other documents. Of course, full size patterns are specific to this lengthened version.
The lapstrake version will be modified to add water ballast, as on Ebihen 18, improving stability.
