Pigments for Epoxy

4 oz. Color - $12.30
8 oz. Black - $19.00
8 oz. White - $19.00

These epoxy-dispersed pigment pastes will not placticize cured epoxy as do universal or other non-epoxy dispersed pigments. Blend pigments to produce many different hues.

Mix 1 oz. per gallon of epoxy.

UV Protection:

Our pigment offers some UV protection for epoxy and is the best thing you can do short of paint or varnish over the final coat of resin. But you will notice some surface chalking after some time in the sun. Epoxy that is colored is mainly intended to be used for areas of the boat that don't get direct sunshine such as bilges or the insides of cabins. For boats that are kept in a garage or shed, epoxy that has been pigmented will last a good while but it is not the same as paint. You could give it a couple of coats of clear varnish to stop the UV if you were concerned.

Here is what an experienced builder has to say about using this pigment:

Coverage depends on the color and the thickness of the coating. The light grey, tan, and brick red cover the best. I would not mix more than 5-%10% by volume or it begins to change the properties of the epoxy. The last few times I have used pigments, its been 1 oz. per 12 oz. batch - so about 8% and that gave very good coverage at the rate of 150 square feet per gallon.
